Finisar Systems Announces GTX Version 4.0:

The Industry’s First Multi-Protocol Analyzer for SANs

Simultaneous Display of iSCSI, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand with just one viewer

Sunnyvale, CA, Feb 13, 2002 – Finisar Systems, a division of Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ; FNSR) specializing in SAN and LAN performance tools, announced today GTX Version 4.0: the industry’s first multi-protocol analyzer for SANs. Designed specifically for R&D developers, test engineers and design QA engineers, GTX software version 4.0 is the newest generation of Finisar protocol analysis software featuring iSCSI triggers and analysis and the ability to now view all three Storage Area Networking (SAN) protocols iSCSI, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand with just one viewer.

Finisar’s new version GTX software is backwards compatible with previous versions of GTX releases. iSCSI product features include capture of 1 Gb or 2 Gb of Trace Data in on-board buffers, new Trace Viewer spreadsheet and GTX-style format viewer for easy identification for existing Finisar users. In addition to the new iSCSI features, GTX 4.0 also adds more decodes for Fibre Channel and an upgrade to its GTX SANMetrics-Fibre Channel/SCSI debug and analysis tool. GTX-SANMetrics puts the "expert" in the software, giving visual topology (SAN layout) views for network visualization and allows less-technical staff to effectively analyze traces. Users save a tremendous amount of time and effort to quickly get to the root of performance issues. GTX-SANMetrics new features include over 240 Fibre Channel and SCSI performance metrics in graph view with zoom and high channel count support which allows the user to view as many as the analyzer will allow. GTX SANMetrics portion of GTX 4.0 provides performance measurements for every aspect and behavior of Fibre Channel and SCSI traces. It's expert-level analysis and debugging facilities help find protocol and performance anomalies.

"Our customers have been asking for a tool to test and analyze all three SAN protocols and we are proud to say that we have delivered" said Finisar Systems General Manager, Bill Shaw. "GTX 4.0 helps our customers solve their SAN protocol analysis problems quickly and easily."
